What can be expected, by Season in the weekly CSA share boxes?
Spring Shares will often include items from our Winter Cold Storage (apples, cabbage, carrots, sunchokes, turnips), Dry Storage (onions, potatoes, winter squashes & garlic), Farm Pantry (jams, jellies, popcorn, pecans, sauerkraut) and Greenhouses (microgreens, live/potted herbs)

What is growing in the Spring Gardens? March-April-May
We begin to start seeds around Valentines Day for a wide variety of vegetables and herbs but the gardens are still sound asleep for many more weeks. As the days lengthen and soils begin to warm, the message to "Wake Up" brings the perennial asparagus, rhubarb, strawberries and herbs, like Thyme, Rosemary and Fennel to LIFE.
As soon as the ground can be worked we are planting the hardy lettuces, arugula, radishes and scallions as well as the "Cole Crops" like Broccoli, Cabbage, Carrots, Cauliflower, Mustard and, Kale. The "Cold Crops" like; Beets, Peas, Spinach, Swiss Chard & Turnips are among the earliest of plantings.

"We can hardly wait for the first Asparagus, Rhubarb and Strawberries each spring. The depth and intensity of color and flavor just looks, smells and tastes Healthy" - R. Boyd 12 years

"My children really connect to the Food from 'Their Farm' and express their dissatisfaction when we don't have or serve the Farm Fresh Eggs or Beef or Popcorn that just does not taste the same. It has really empowered them to speak up about healthier eating" - B. Campbell 5 years

"Our Kids grew up with Sycamore Spring Farm in our lives. It is amazing, how much valuable information about health and nutrition and caring for the planet that we have learned and experienced there. My Husband and I eat clean and healthy from the CSA program. Our kids still visit the farm with us when they are home and ask for important updates from Farmer Carol." - V. Sparks 17 years

"I started at Sycamore Spring Farm way back in 2010 and moved away for a couple of years. The first thing I did when back in Maryland, was to rejoin and have remained a huge supporter of their No-Harm Farming ever since. Healthy food, great members, a community for all"! - M. Farrell 13 years

"Our favorite time at the Farm is in the Autumn when all of the Summer crops are still producing and the Fall Harvests add the amazing fruits and nuts, pumpkins and winter squashes. I do a lot of freezing for the winter and holiday meals. Love this place." - S. Sizemore 8 years

"The Highlight of our weekends is the trip to the farm to pickup our CSA Share, fresh picked flowers & herbs. It really does feel like going to Grandma's House and leaving with wonderful food, experiences and memories" - G. Franklin 14 years
