Bone Broths- $55.00

We will make Basic Cheese, Chevre, Neufchatel and Yogurt as you learn all about temperature, cultures, techniques and how the entire cheese making process works. This beginner workshop takes you through the history of cheese making and clearly explains the Hows? and Whys? so that you understand what it takes to make great homemade cheese without fail. We recommend mastering the information from this workshop before moving to more difficult cheeses. All supplies and materials are included in this workshop and we will show you how to dual purpose items that you already have in your kitchen to make these simple, wonderful cheeses. You will take home delicious cheese--that you have made-- to share with your family.
Fermentation-$55.00
Throughout history, people have enjoyed the benefits of food fermentation. This amazing process preserves food, makes ingredients more easily digestible, adds flavor and depth, and provides other important health benefits. We will make Sauerkraut and Cultured Butter during this workshop and additionally discuss fermentation in bread baking, corned beef, dairy products and beverages for home use. This workshop will provide you a broad overview of fermentation possibilities, as well as equipment use and care, supplies and recipes. Soap making-$55.00
This very hands on workshop has been given right here on the Farm for over 10 years with many of our students out there now making and selling their own soaps! Class size is limited since we will be working in close quarters with heat and lye. Safety precautions are covered and students will actually be making soap and not just watching. You will learn all about hot and cold processing, the purpose, pros and cons of each and how you can take this basic training to great heights with your future soap making. You will receive complete recipes, instructions, supplies list and supplier information along with 2 full size bars of your choice to take home and share with family.

You hear a lot about herbs for cooking, for medicine, for essential oils, for teas, tussie mussies and lots of other things. This workshop will educate you about wonderful herbal plants that have been used for centuries for all of this and more! We will walk our herb gardens and speak a bit about growing, harvesting, storing and drying herbs. Some are so easy to grow, no matter where you live and we just have to encourage everyone to give it a try so we will send you home with a live, potted herb or two. We will cover cooking essentials and home remedies that have been used for hundreds of years. How to instructions and recipes to make basil butter, pesto, herbal tea for cough or clarity. How about elderberry syrup? What is a tincture and how are essential oils obtained and used? How much do you use and where to get the best supplies for the best prices? We cover it all in this workshop that explains WHY we should have lots of herbs in our lives and know how to use them!
